Living Under Grace, Not Law

Devotional: Grace does not lower God's standards—it elevates them. Under the Old Covenant, people followed rules to earn God's favor. Under the New Covenant, we respond to God's favor already given through Jesus Christ. This changes everything about how we live and give. We are not bound by legal obligations but empowered by grace to exceed what the law required. Jesus demonstrated this principle repeatedly: the law said do not murder, but grace says do not harbor anger. Similarly, grace giving calls us beyond mere obligation to sacrificial generosity. We give not to earn salvation but because we have been saved. Let this truth sink deep: you are not under law but under grace. This freedom empowers you to give joyfully, love extravagantly, and serve wholeheartedly.
