Clothed in Forgiveness

Devotional: Forgiveness is the pinnacle of grace-filled speech and life. Paul commands us to forgive "even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you." This is the gospel applied to relationships. You cannot harbor unforgiveness while claiming to understand Calvary. The cross is both our model and motivation—Christ forgave an unpayable debt, absorbing the full cost Himself. How then can we withhold forgiveness from others? Bitterness, wrath, and malice must be stripped away and replaced with kindness, tenderheartedness, and forgiveness. This doesn't minimize the hurt or pretend nothing happened, but it refuses to let yesterday's pain poison today's heart and speech. Today, identify anyone you've been unwilling to forgive.

Release them as Christ released you. Let forgiveness break bitterness's grip and restore grace to your words.
