The Renewal of Your Mind

Reading: Romans 12:1-2; Colossians 4:6

Devotional: The early Corinthian believers lived in a culture that celebrated sexual freedom and viewed marriage as mere social contract. Sound familiar? When they came to Christ, they needed complete mental transformation—not just new beliefs, but entirely new ways of thinking about their bodies, desires, and relationships. The same is true today. We live in a world that defines love as feeling, marriage as convenience, and commitment as conditional. But God calls us to something radically different: covenant thinking. This requires daily renewal. You cannot sustain a biblical marriage on cultural assumptions. Every morning, you must choose to walk back through the covenant door, rejecting the world's patterns and embracing God's design. Your speech must be seasoned with grace. Your actions must reflect Christ's sacrificial love. This is not natural—it is supernatural, requiring God's transforming power.

Reflection Question: What cultural assumptions about relationships have I absorbed that contradict God's Word?
