The Sacred Fireplace

Reading: Genesis 2:18-25
Devotional: God declared that it was "not good" for man to be alone—the only "not good" in all creation. Marriage wasn't an afterthought; it was divine design for companionship, partnership, and oneness. Like a fire contained in a fireplace, covenant love creates warmth, light, and safety when kept within God's boundaries. Outside those boundaries, the same passion becomes destructive. Today, reflect on God's intentional design for relationship.
Whether single or married, ask: Am I becoming the person God calls me to be? Marriage doesn't complete you—Christ does. But within covenant boundaries, two Christ-centered people can reflect God's faithful love to a watching world. Tend the fire by honoring God's design.
