The Power of Forgiveness

Reading: Mark 11:24-26, Colossians 3:12-14

Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. 25 “And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. 26 But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.” (Mark 11:24-26)

Devotional: Jesus teaches that unforgiveness is a significant barrier to effective prayer. As we seek God's forgiveness and blessing, we must also extend forgiveness to others. Reflect on relationships in your life where unforgiveness may be hindering your spiritual growth and your communion with God. Are you holding onto bitterness or resentment? Remember, forgiveness is not about forgetting or excusing harmful behavior but about releasing the debt and leaving justice in God's hands.

Today, ask God to reveal any unforgiveness in your heart. Take steps to forgive, even if reconciliation isn't possible. As you do, experience the freedom that comes from aligning your heart with God's forgiving nature, and watch as this opens new channels for answered prayer in your life.
